I spotted this dress from across the room when I walked into DI (Deseret Industries). I am not very fond of purple but there was something about this plum button up dress. I have a weird attraction to polk-a-dots and this color is so fun and vibrant. It is perfect for summer. I almost laughed at how nineties and shapeless this floor length dress is. It reminds me of a dress Helen Hunt wore in As Good as It Gets.

I originally wanted to shorten it into a t shirt dress. When I tried the dress on it was way too tight to be a baggy shirt dress, and it hugged in all the wrong places. I loved the color and polk-a-dots too much to pass it up, so I decided to chop the dress off to a shirt. I am so happy with the final product it goes with absolutely everything in my closet, and is just the addition I needed. To fix the dress into a shirt I cut the dress an inch below my hip bone then hemmed the edge a quarter inch and it was ready to wear. This is how I wore it.
